Kristin Chenoweth would like to invite students interested in theatre technical design to a free session on Friday July 18 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center.
Guest speaker is MATT BERMAN! Matt is Kristin Chenowethâs lighting/sound designer- Production Manager. He designed the lighting & sound for Kristin Chenowethâs âMy Love Letter To Broadwayâ at the Lunt-Fontanne. He is also the resident lighting designer for Lincoln Centerâs American Songbook. He most recently returned from Norway where he designed and production managed, âMeow Meowâs Pandemoniumâ with the Norwegian Symphony. Previous to that he has designed âPandemoniumâ for two years with the London Philharmonic and Thomas Lauderdale of Pink Martini. He continues his design work for Kristin, Liza Minnelli, Alan Cumming, Meow Meow, Brian Stokes Mitchell and Elaine Paige on the road. Through his work with ASCAP and several US based charities, Matt has designed for a starry roster that includes Bernadette Peters, Barbra Streisand, Reba McEntire, Melissa Erico, Deborah Voigt, Michael Urie, Stevie Wonder, India Arie, Garth Brooks, Billy Joel and Sting. His international touring schedule has allowed him to design for iconic venues such as Royal Albert Hall, The Paris Opera, The Olympia Theater in Paris, Carre Theater in Amsterdam, The Sporting Club in Monte Carlo, The Acropolis, The Amphitheater in Taormina Sicily, Luna Park in Buenos Aires, the Sydney Opera House and, closer to home, The Hollywood Bowl, Alice Tully Hall and Carnegie Hall. Other Broadway credits include: the Tony Award winning âLizaâs At The Palace,â âBea Arthur On Broadwayâ at the Booth Theater, Nancy LaMottâs âJust In Time For Christmasâ and âKathy Griffin Wants A Tonyâ at the Belasco Theater.
Kristin will be hosting her Broadway Boot Camp at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center with 65 students from across the globe during this week. We love to offer this "behind the scenes" technical session that is open to students not participating in the camp. We also would love for the tech students and their parents to attend our Kristi Awards show July 27, 7:00 pm at the BAPAC where the campers and staff will put on an amazing show.
